Book retreat

A few months ago, my friend who is an author of a book called, "Single woman seeks perfect man", sent a few of us some messages on facebook about a book retreat that God had placed on her heart for a few women of us that has been brought in her path to learn how to write a book.  I was super excited at first, but I knew the enemy was trying to prevent me from going.  He would put doubt of not wanting to go in my head and also try to convince me that I financially couldn't go.  I'm not too big on planning something months in ahead, because I just don't know what could happen and to invest in something that far ahead kind of made me nervous.

I paid my down payment and waited on the rest.  In that time of trying to save up, I honestly forgot about it and when I had came across some money from selling some things I prayed and asked God where He would like me to invest the money in.  He put it on my heart to pay of a certain bill and then reminded me of the book retreat and to put it there.  I still had doubts if I truly wanted to go for some reason, but I listened and since He reminded me, I knew there was a plan and purpose of me going.  Talking to the women on facebook, I learned that alot of them had some sort of struggle or doubt of going too, but at the end we all came who was supposed to be there and had a great time.

I enjoyed getting to know these women and hearing all their different walks in life and how God can use them for His purpose.  Its great to be around women for a weekend who love the Lord and who put trust and faith in God.  Writing a book is not an easy thing and I learned alot of steps to get one published.

I was really hoping and praying that when I got done with the book retreat I would of been on fire to start writing, but for some reason I haven't.  Who knows, maybe tomorrow I will wake up and be ready too.  I just know that when God is ready for me too, I feel like I will sit down and He will just have it pour out of me.

Another good thing about the book retreat was having a lady there that I knew.  I had went to school with her daughter and we got to catch up and talk about a few things.  Also another two ladies had known each other from back in high school.  Its crazy how God works and how he plans and orchestrates things, even when we have no clue about it.

We had went to a bed and breakfast in Bowie, Texas and it was my first time ever going to one of those.  It was out in the country and we had every meal cooked for us and the beauty of the country and  wide open land was just relaxing.  God had blessed us with perfect weather, with a slight breeze for June.

I felt really blessed being there and getting to know these women.  I also, in a weird way, felt unattached, sort of like God was doing something within my soul in those moments, with just Him and myself.  There is something within my soul, something that I have been praying about, God has been really working and preparing me for His plan within my life.  I have felt more alive, prepared, content and at peace with where I am at this moment for the past week than I can ever remember feeling in my life.

Now I took pictures of these women and the time we had without telling them, because I know they would of said no, but I do hope if they see this, that they are happy that I captured some moments and memories of our time together! :)  I am all about remembering times and events in our lives and to see later down the road of our growth and how God changed our lives!!

I had the bottom bunk!!!

Getting ready to head out after a great weekend together.  The lady in the middle in the white is one of the owners and I enjoyed learning her walk with the Lord and her business there!

It was starting to warm up!

Sitting and visiting before heading out!

Heading home!!!

Going home to your family, to your bed, to your comfort is always a good thing!  Also taking some time out of your busy life, kids, husband, family, work and sharing it with Christian women is also a good thing and its something I feel like we need to do every once in awhile to refocus and relax!  I think it makes us appreciate what we have and also for a split second the people who depend on us, appreciate us when we arnt there! :)

  1. So glad you shared these photos! I had the thought to take pictures but then didn't. Wanted to disconnect from my phone so I tried to keep it put away most of the time. Loved reading this! If you'd like, go check out my blog. www.daily-victories.blogspot.com

I haven't written consistently in a while, but since the retreat I'm feeling more motivated to write, as I should be doing!

  3. You aren't the only who felt like you were being sequestered by God...like I had to step away so often just to get exactly what He desired I gather from each encounter. Interesting how He so often seems to be doing the same thing individually even within a group.
