My first camping trip

My friend wanted to take me on a camping trip, since he has been several times and I had always wanted too.  I wanted to camp out under the stars the old fashion way.  The funny thing is, I wanted to use a stick to stick my weenie on, in the fire and he didn't want me too.  He went out and got all the things we need and even got me a fan for me at night time.

We headed out about noon and headed to Oklahoma with my car loaded down.  We arrived at the mountains and went to Mt. Scott.  We took lots of pictures and even stopped several times going up the mountain to take pictures and look at the scenery.

We drove around and took pictures and needed to go set up camp.  When we found the location we wanted, we started unpacking.  While we were unpacking, we realized we needed some batteries, so we went back into a small town to get some and some fire wood.  We got back and started our dinner as the sun started going down.  I have to say that Robert did everything....he knew exactly what to do, while I just did the woman chores.  At one point we did stop and shoot a gun at a can, which was super fun, since I do enjoy shooting!  He also pulled his guitar out and sang me a song he wrote for me, which was sweet!

What I looked forward to the most was my weenies (Hot Dogs) and smores.  He made us a drink and we started cooking.  It was delish, it hit the spot!!!  We were just exhausted from the day, so we decided to go to bed.  The bathrooms were walking distance, so we showered and got our Pj's on and went to the tent.  The amazing thing was, was that the weather was perfect.  It was cool and not hot at all.  About 2-3 hours into the night, I heard a noise.  I'm a very light sleeper and he is a heavy sleeper, so I woke him up and told him that there was a noise right outside the tent.  Before we had went to sleep we had got the cooler and brought it next to the tent in case we were thirsty during the night.  When we got the flash light and look out, our cooler was wide open!!  The scary thing was about it all, was that this cooler is very hard to open.  Human beings, grown men struggle getting this thing open and here it is, wide open!  We had actually had our heads closer to the opening of the tent, because it was cooler that way, but since all that happened, it freaked us out and we turned the other way.  I did end up sleeping alot better and we fell asleep.

Morning comes and I wake up and walk to the bathroom and let him sleep.  I  put makeup on, look around, take in the scenery and take a million pics of me, because that's what I do! (ha)  I finally decided I was going to wake him up, so I yelled his name.....nothing.....yelled again.....nothing.....yelled again....HUH????  I see him sitting up in the tent and then he lays back down.  I yelled it again and he starts talking to me.  It was the funniest thing.

He gets out, gets ready and starts cooking us breakfast.  We pack up later and head out.  We went to a few different places like the parallel forest and we saw the ground hogs!  We also went to the museum, where he got me a key chain of a buffalo and ground hog.  I almost ran over a ground hog and a buffalo growled at me, so it was very sentimental.

We had walked the river and he even swam in one.  We got close to a deer and saw a longhorn and cow cross the road.

It was one of the best outside experiences I ever had and I would love to do it again!  I thank Robert for providing for everything and even doing most of the work!!!  The weather was beautiful and to have no phone service was even a blessing because you didn't think about life, but enjoyed mother nature at its best!  I cant wait to go again!
